This page lists current and past members of the Wolfinger research group.

The group works on problems in computational RNA biology, with a focus on RNA structure prediction, RNA design, structured viral RNAs, RNA-protein interactions, and folding kinetics. Team members come from backgrounds including bioinformatics, chemistry, molecular biology, physics, and data analysis.

Some projects are strongly methodological, for example in RNA folding, kinetics, or design. Others are driven by concrete biological systems such as flaviviral non-coding RNAs, riboswitches, or RNA-binding proteins.

Join the Team

We regularly supervise students and collaborate on projects that fit the group’s core themes. Good fits usually include an interest in RNA structure and function, comfort with quantitative or computational work, and a willingness to work across disciplinary boundaries.

If you are interested in joining the group, it helps to briefly describe your background, current stage, and which research directions are most relevant to you. For students, that can mean a thesis topic in computational RNA biology, virology, or RNA design. For collaborators, it is useful to outline the biological system or methodological question you are working on.

If that sounds relevant, please get in touch.
